King's Record-Breaking APS Season

King’s has just wrapped up another sterling season of APS sport among the group of eight Associated Private Schools across the Gold Coast. Over the past two terms, our talented teams have practised and competed in a range of sports each week, striving for success and the ultimate prize of the Premiership trophy. The dedication and hard work of our students and coaches certainly paid off, and saw 44 King's teams emerging as Premiership finalists.

The Grand Final matches last week provoked excitement from the crowds and showed the skill of our athletes, who demonstrated their ability to perform under pressure. With all results now in, King's is excited to announce that we have set a new APS record by winning an impressive 36 premierships out of a possible 75, including the coveted First XV Rugby title. This remarkable achievement sets a new benchmark for the APS competition, with King’s claiming a 48% share of all possible premierships. 

We acknowledge the efforts of our partnering APS schools, who also gave their best throughout the season. Our closest competitor this season was Somerset College, who gained a commendable 17% of the premierships, while All Saints earned 16%. The competitive nature of this longstanding competition pushed all schools to strive for excellence and resulted in some breathtaking sporting moments.

The APS program forms a valuable part of school life at King’s, and we know our students finish each season with greater teamwork skills, discipline, and resilience. As we conclude another remarkable APS sports season, our King's community can look back with a sense of accomplishment. Congratulations to all of our athletes, coaches, parents and supporters who have played a part in this extraordinary season. We look ahead with anticipation to all that APS Season Two has in store!
