Trade Training Centre
King’s Trade Training Centre (KTTC) is a school within a school. We offer an alternative to traditional, main stream schooling ideally suited to students who do not intend to obtain an OP and are interested in one of the trades we offer.
Students start their journey with us in Year 11. They complete school and achieve a Year 12 Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) whilst training in their chosen field, with the possibility of going straight into employment. Year 11 students complete a Certificate II in their chosen trade and gain industry experience through work experience placements. In Year 12, students commence a Certificate III and every endeavour will be made to place them in a school-based apprenticeship.
Pre-vocational Mathematics, English Communication and Certificate III in Business are conducted on campus two days per week. One day is spent in trade training, either at KTTC or another training campus. The other two days are for industry placement, either work experience or school-based apprenticeships/traineeships.
