BOOK WEEK'S Wearable Art & Competition Winners

College Life

This year marked the 78th Annual CBCA Book Week in Australia and it was encouraging to see the love of literature reignited at King's once again. Hundreds of book characters came to life on Friday, 25 August, as our Primary School community enjoyed their book week dress-up day. From a comical Captain Underpants to a life-sized bible and the cast of Beauty and the Beast, our staff and students embodied a kaleidoscope of beloved book characters. It was exciting to see such a colourful display of creativity as students impersonated some of their favourite literary legends with impressive costumes, realistic props and clever acting skills. Thank you King’s parents, for putting so much time and effort into your child's wearable masterpieces!

King's libraries celebrated throughout the week with several competitions for primary and high school students. High Schoolers could match the 'shelfie' (book) to the high school teacher's selfie to win a $10 tuckshop voucher. All students also had the chance to enter the Book in a Jar competition or the new Get Caught Reading competition and our librarians were excited to receive the largest-ever response to these competitions, with some of our photos featured above. Congratulations to all of our winners:
