BOOK WEEK'S Wearable Works of Art

Primary

Hundreds of book characters came to life at King's on Thursday, 25 August, as our Primary community enjoyed their Book Character dress-up day for CBCA Book Week 2022, themed 'Dreaming with eyes open.' It was exciting to see such a colourful display of creativity as students impersonated some of their favourite literary legends with impressive costumes, life-like props and even some dramatic acting skills. Thanks to our King’s parents for raising the bar once again and putting so much time and effort into these wearable works of art! Book Character day was full of fun and included a tunnel parade for all of Primary and a special visit from King's parent and self-published author, Jacqueline Pozo, who has recently written the children's book 'Honey, have you seen my keys?'

As the 77th Annual Book Week in Australia, it was encouraging to see such a love of literature reignited once again, as students and staff enjoyed the chance to focus on many beloved books throughout the week. King's Main Library celebrated the week with interactive activities and competitions.

Our Noah's Ark children also joined in the Book Week spirit and loved the chance to dress up on Tuesday and Thursday, and also enjoyed visits with special guests from across our King's community who came to the classes and read books for various storytime opportunities.
