Honouring our 2023 Captains and Prefects

Student Leadership

Our College values the strong partnerships we have with many local churches as we encourage students to develop their leadership skills and God-given gifts, through various ministry and serving opportunities. Every year in the first term, the College holds a special Induction Service to present our newest senior leaders with their leadership badges. Our 2023 service was held on Tuesday, 7 March, and it was an honour to welcome many Church Pastors as our special guest presenters and to have them join us as we prayed for our leaders. Every Year 12 student was also presented with a leadership badge to recognise the responsibility they carry as leaders in our school community.

Congratulations to our 2023 Senior Captains and House Captains and our Year 12 students for stepping into these significant roles at King's - we are excited to see all that God has for you as you faithfully serve our community this year. Our College Captains, Seo-Woo Choi and Caleb Choga, both gave incredible speeches, as they spoke about using the leadership potential God has placed in every person. King's Reedy Creek Campus Principal, Mr Russell Meyers, also gave an aspirational message to the cohort. The service concluded with an afternoon tea for students, staff, parents and invited guests in the King's Table forecourt.

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
