Important Presentations for our Community

Our College is passionate about seeing young people thrive as we partner with King's families throughout the learning journey. One of the ways we do this is by equipping parents with tools and strategies for navigating some of the challenges of raising children. We regularly host free Parenting Seminars where renowned experts share their research and proven strategies and answer questions from parents. We hosted our latest Parenting Seminar on Wednesday, 3 August, and were honoured to have guest presenters Melinda Tankard-Reist, and her co-host Daniel Principe, speak to over 100 King's parents. Melinda Tankard-Reist is a well-known speaker, author and advisor on issues relating to helping our young people navigate a sexualised world. She shared more about how we can help our children resist harmful messages from media and pop culture, and aspire to have respectful relationships. Melinda and Daniel also presented separate sessions for our girls and boys in High School this week, where they shared their research from speaking to other young people, and gave some important advice for dealing with the cultural pressures that exist.
