King's Drama Fest Success

Performing Arts

On Friday, 4 August, 24 of our Year 7 and 8 students competed against 13 other schools at the Gold Coast Drama Festival. It was the first time in King's history that our Junior Ensemble received the Best Overall Play Award, the Runners Up Award and the Best Devised Play Award and we are so proud of our performers’ hard work and perfect execution. Congratulations!

Our Intermediate Ensemble also competed at the Festival, where they performed their play ‘Then, Now, Next’ from The Trilogy Projects. Their evocative performance explored the connections between Gen X and Gen Z and their incredible performances landed them the titles of Best Devised Play and Runner's Up in the overall category. Well done students!

Our Senior Ensemble was also rewarded for their performance at the Drama Festival with their reimagined story of Theseus and Ariadne, entitled ‘LEGACY.’ They also wowed the judges and collected the Best Devised Play award in their section. Amazing work students!
