High School Leaders Induction Service 2022
Every year in the first school term, we hold a Captains’ and Prefects’ Induction Service to present our Middle School leaders with their leadership badges. This year, we held the ceremony on Wednesday, 9 March, and many family members attended as special guests as they witnessed their children receive their badges and joined us as we prayed for our leaders.
Mr Glenn Miles, Head of Culture, spoke to the students about leadership and culture. His message was unpinned by the scripture in Exodus 12:26 that says "And it shall be, when your children say to you, 'What do you mean by this service?' He spoke about what describes the act of doing and why. He stated that everyone is a leader and that our students need to focus on who they are learning to be, rather than what they do. Students need to also think about their futures. Leadership opportunities start in the classroom, at school and at home among the family and will lead to the future workplace. Culture is comprised of what you create and what you allow. Leaders are not born, they are made.
