Jacob Hankinson Achieved PB at Qld Champs

Year 7 student, Jacob Hankinson, participated in the  LA Qld State Championships on 12th March in Brisbane and improved on his athletics achievements at this meet.  

Jacob competed in the 13 Age Group 1500m run where he competed against 25 other state qualifiers and placed 6th overall against a really tough field with an awesome time (and beating 12 seconds off his previous PB) of 4:58.  His goal for 2022 was to run this race in under 5 minutes. 

The 1500m race is his better event but he also qualified for the 800m run and out of 30 state qualifiers came 9th overall with a PB time of 2:31.

"It was hard to run the 800m backing on such a huge 1500m run but I am proud of what I achieved and am so happy with my results," said an excited Jacob.
