King's Skipping Success at State Championships

Sport

King's Skipperoos competed at the State Skipping Championships on the weekend of 4 - 5 June at the Logan Metro Indoor Sports Centre. King's energetic team of skippers from Years 2 - 8 competed at this event, as well as King's alumnus and current coach, Jasmine Hawkins. It was heartwarming to see our high school students supporting and encouraging our junior athletes throughout this event, where King's achieved some incredible results.

Congratulations to our newest Queensland State Champions:

  • Nate Mpala and Mackenzie Hoy: 2 x 30-second double-under relay event
  • Addison Roughley: 1 minute triple-under event
  • Jasmine Hawkins (ex-student and current coach): consecutive triple-under event

King's Skipperoos would like to thank their wonderful coaches, Miss Elly Meteyard and Miss Jasmine Hawkins, and also the College for providing the bus to and from the event. The team is now in training for the 2022 National Championships which will be held in Darwin during the September holidays. Good luck Skipperoos!
