King's Successful Season of School Soccer

Sport

King's Soccer teams have been competing throughout the year in the ISSA (Independent Schools Soccer Association) Cup. Our teams first competed in the initial round in April this year, in a pool against other top teams in the region. King's teams competed in their pool against Emmanuel, Somerset, AB Paterson and All Saints, and then went through the knockout stages, successfully making it through the quarter-finals, semi-finals and all the way to the recent Grand Final tournament. King's ISSA U14 Girls team had lost against Somerset in the initial round but played against them again in the Grand Final where they successfully won 3-1, taking out the Champions title for the second consecutive year! The Uhlsport (UHL) Cup represents the senior division of the ISSA Cup and King's Boys' UHL Cup team and ISSA U14 Boys remained undefeated heading into the Grand Final where they both lost in very close matches against Ipswich Grammar School. Our UHL Cup team endured a nail-biting Final game, with nil-all on the scoreboard at full time, only losing 3-4 on the penalty shootout. Congratulations to our ISSA teams on another successful season of soccer!
