Library Lover's Day 2021 at Pimpama

Pimpama

Library Lovers’ Day is an annual opportunity for students to celebrate the valuable role that libraries play in their lives. The theme for Library Lovers' Day 2021 was Make a Date with your Library and was held on our campus last Monday. This year, 242 students from Years 5-12 were involved in our competitions across campuses.

"We were thrilled to participate in Library Lover’s Day in the Senior Pimpama Library for the first time this year," said Holley Greenway, Librarian at the Pimpama Campus, "To celebrate at our campus, our libraries provided giveaways, activities and competitions throughout the day for students to get involved in."

The Senior Library (Year 5 - 9) held two competitions:

  1. Book Borrowing Lucky Draw where every student who borrowed a book was entered into the draw.
  2. ‘Library Love Letters Competition’ for the best letter written by a student explaining why they love their school library.

The Primary Library (Prep-Year 4) held their annual colouring-in competition.

Students in Year 5 to 9 also had an opportunity to choose to have a ‘Blind Date with a Book’, encouraging students to expand their reading and discover books they may not have chosen before.

The students all loved the day and are already looking forward to celebrating library Lovers' Day next year!
