M1 - Exit 49 (Pimpama) Interchange Update #2

Pimpama
Exit 49 Interchange Update 2The Pacific Motorway (M1) - Exit 49 (Pimpama) Interchange upgrade Changed Pedestrian Routes has had an update on 25 October since the initial announcement went out in the last newsletter.  Please note, from this week work areas are being established on both sides of the interchange with changes to impact all road users including pedestrians and bike riders.

These changes include:

  • RIFLE RANGE ROAD between Bull Road and the interchange
    • Underground services are being relocated in this section and works to construct a noise barrier will then start.
    • To enable these works, the footpath in this area will be closed with a detour in place around the works zone.
    • PLEASE NOTE - due to this footpath closure, the easement access from Hanover Drive to Rifle Range Road will be closed.  Pedestrians show access to the detour via Bull Road or the southern end of Hanover Drive. The new pedestrian access is on the roadside of Rifle Range Road.

Exit 49 is busy, especially in peak times, with more than 60,000 cars travelling through the interchange most days. Pedestrians and bike riders should cross the interchange roads with caution and always obey road rules.  Motorists are reminded that the speed limit around the interchange has been reduced to 40km/h.

Safety in a roadworks zone is everyone's responsibility.
