Operation Christmas Child

As we approach Christmas each year, King's LIFE program coordinates a united effort across our school to support Operation Christmas Child (OCC). OCC is a project of Samaritan’s Purse that provides a unique way to bless children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. The gift boxes are then distributed in the name of Jesus to children living in vulnerable situations. The mission of OCC is to provide God’s love to children in need around the world and in 2022, as a result of this gift-giving program, over 2.4 million children gave their hearts to Jesus.

Each class at King's has been provided with one OCC shoebox to fill with the items listed. More boxes can be collected from Mrs Meyers in the Hub. FAMILIES, please help us by buying a toy, hygiene item, school supplies, or fun gift and ensure your OCC gifts are brought to school during Weeks 1 - 3 this term. Each shoebox requires $10 postage, which applies to both official OCC boxes and normal shoeboxes. Some families may prefer to contribute towards the postage of the boxes instead of bringing in a gift. All money for postage is to be handed into the class teacher who will pass on to Primary School Admin.

WHAT NOT TO PACK

  • Food Drink including power mixes - no liquids
  • Big Toys that take up too much room
  • Toothpaste, Shampoo or any liquids or aerosol cans
  • Playing cards, domino's or play money (gambling items)
  • Crayons (they can melt) or Textas (they can run)
  • Electronics, playdough or war-related toys like guns etc

Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark is joining the rest of the College in collecting items to fill Christmas boxes for children in need. Their goal is to fill six shoeboxes and they have already done some fundraising for the postage of these boxes with a free dress day in Term 3. They have baskets in their foyer where Noah's Ark families can place donations of new toys, hygiene items, school supplies, clothing and fun gifts with a focus on gifts for 2-4-year-olds (boys or girls) - suggestions are via the buttons below.
