King's Shares 'R U OK?' Message

Student Wellbeing

Last week at King’s, we brightened our campus with yellow and black balloons to bring early awareness to ‘R U OK?’ Day for 2023. This annual nationwide campaign emphasises the importance of being in tune with the mental well-being of those around us.

Throughout the week, our Student Wellbeing team ran some special events and giveaways as they shared vital messages about checking in with your mates, asking for help and being great listeners and encouragers. Our Chaplains and Wellbeing staff spent time with KTTC students on Wednesday by cooking them a pancake breakfast, playing basketball and getting together for a craft session. Then, on Thursday, our Primary school students enjoyed class devotions and activities and proudly wore R U OK? Day stickers, while Upper Primary also relished a spirited handball competition. High schoolers joined in with around-the-world basketball sessions and volleyball games, with some students making friendship bracelets in The Hub. Special thanks to King's Wellbeing Team for planning and running these events and spending time connecting with our students and staff. Let's continue spreading the R U OK? Day spirit every day - together, we can make our community stronger and healthier.

Is someone you know struggling? Ask them, ‘R U OK?’ and spark a conversation that could change a life. Visit ruok.org.au for more information and helpful resources.
