Raising Funds Raises Hope for YHAF

Reedy Creek

Tin Can Meal Drive

Our Wellbeing Team at Reedy Creek campus began their community outreach efforts early this year with a tin-can meal drive competition. King's have already received 570 tinned food donations, with Newton leading the way in the House tally. Students can continue to bring canned meals to their PC Class until March 19. Thanks to our College's ongoing partnership with Tweed-based charity, You Have a Friend (YHAF), these meals will end up in the hands of homeless people living in our communities across the Gold Coast.

BBQ and Free Shirt Day Fundraiser

The highly anticipated 'You Have a Friend' Lunch & Free-Shirt Day fundraiser took place on Thursday, 4 March, and it was heartwarming to see so many High School students involved in running and supporting this event. The funds raised from the day will all be donated to You Have a Friend for the purchase of new swags for homeless people.

YHAF Founder, Mr Lee, once expressed his immense gratitude to King's staff and students for continuing to support the organisation. "You have a wonderful school and your support is greatly appreciated. We never really know the extent of someone's background, so we don't judge. We simply love them through their current circumstances."

Thank you to our King's families for supporting these important initiatives, as we look beyond ourselves to meet the needs of others less fortunate.
