Second King's Golf Day - A Big Hit!
King's Golf Day was a big hit with the 110 players who enjoyed a wonderful start to the winter school holidays at The Club at Parkwood. Our King's golfers enjoyed exclusive use of the perfectly manicured course on Monday, 20 June, and began the event with bacon and egg rolls for breakfast, before the day's briefing. After that, players were in their golf buggies and off to enjoy 18 holes of golf in the Ambrose format. The competition was high among many of the King's staff, with certain teachers keen to tame our Pimpama Campus Principal, Mr Rob Verreynne, and his sons, who love their game of golf. There were also an array of great prizes up for grabs for the top teams, including $2,500 worth of JB Hifi vouchers and prizes, Drummond Golf vouchers and Bunnings vouchers.
The title for the best-dressed team was won by 'Who's Your Caddy?' (Kylie Fitzgerald, Allegra and Carter Hayden and Shonel Alloway) who stole the show in their fluorescent-coloured tracksuits and 1980's wigs.

The winning team overall (with 58 points) was the SAFAUS team of Daniel Oostendorp, Wesley Stoltz, Raffaele Sparapano and Craig Smith, who each won a $200 JB Hifi voucher, Box of Calloway golf balls, King's umbrella and a mini bragging trophy.

Second place went to Bank of Queensland Nerang Mall on 59 points, with one of their team members, Taffy, also taking out the longest drive on the 18th hole. Third place was Team Banditos on 60 points followed in Fourth place by the best-dressed team, Who's Your Caddy. The Nearest-the-Pin winners were Brent Millar on hole 16, Wesley Stoltz on hole 13 and Reedy Creek Year 5 student, Oliver Zhang on hole 7 with a hit of 167m. The mini-golf prize went to the Hannon family and the main lucky door prize - a double air fryer - went to Year 2 Teacher, Mr Grahame Anderson (just in time for his wife's birthday).
Well done to all our players and winners. We look forward to seeing you at the event in 2023. Until then, happy golfing!
