The 22nd National Simultaneous Storytime

Library

As the clock struck 11am on Wednesday 25 May, King's joined with many schools and Early Learning Centres from across the Pacific for the 2022 National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS). The Australian book chosen to be read simultaneously to students this year was 'Family Tree,' which tells a heartwarming story of family, community and the shared seasons of life. The morning's special occasion was a memorable moment for our Primary students, who sat virtually alongside more than a million students from across Australia and New Zealand for the joint literary experience. Now in its 22nd year, NSS has become an annual opportunity for educators across Australasia to unite, as they celebrate the enjoyment of storytelling. Guest readers this year included the book's author himself, Josh Pyke, who is also a celebrity singer and songwriter, as well as His Excellency, Governor General David Hurley, and his wife Mrs Linda Hurley.
