Students Behind the Scenes Hospital Visit

On Monday, 5 June, a group of KTTC students attended the inaugural Gold Coast University Hospital Open Day. Guests were given an insight into the many and varied career pathways available in health, followed by a tour of the simulation rooms used by nursing and medical students. We were also privileged to visit the control room, which included a large wall of screens showing available beds, operations and ambulance tracking. A few staff who commenced their careers in the hospital told us of their pathway to their current role, which was very inspiring for our students who are aspiring to a career in healthcare. We look forward to more opportunities like this for our students in the future.
