  • NYFA school holiday Teen Camps 
    1-week Film Teen Camp - Write, direct, shoot and edit your own film on our professional film set!
    1-week Acting Teen Camp - Learn how to act by actually acting on set with a film crew! Each student will take home their own audition reel scene.
    Teen Camp Start Dates:11 April, 17 April, 3 July, 10 July, 25 September

  • Weekend Condensed Aussie Wildlife Course
    Age Requirement: 14 years and over with parent consent. More information.
    Weekend Course - Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April

  • A Quick Guide to QUT: For Year 9 and 10 students and parents 
    Students and their parents are invited to a dedicated Year 9 and 10 information session on Tuesday 18 April. We'll cover career planning tips, differences between school and uni, course information, and admission pathways. Plus, hear from current QUT students about their uni experience and ask them questions.

  • Create For A Day at SAE on Saturday 15 April 2023
    SAE Brisbane is opening its doors on Saturday 15th of April for Create For A Day, a one-of-a-kind full day program where students can come to our campus and work on inspiring creative projects in the fields of Animation, Audio, Film, Games, Design, Songwriting & Music Production. Yr 10 - 12 only. All workshops are run at the same time, therefore only one workshop can be attended by an individual. *Lunch included. Tickets are limited and going fast, don’t miss out!

  • UQ Medicine Information Evening: Save the date 
    Learn about studying Medicine at UQ. Hear from leading medical experts, UQ alumni and current students on the changing medical climate, how to apply for medicine at UQ, and tips for success. This event is open to Year 12 students and their parents/guardians.

  • Career Pulse: Save the date
    Date:Wednesday 31 May
    Time: 8.45am – 3pm
    Location: UQ St Lucia campus
    Registrations opening in April.
    Years 10, 11 and 12 students are invited to participate in engaging and interactive career-focused sessions at UQ’s Career Pulse event, which will be held in-person at St Lucia campus in 2023. Find out more.

  • Experience UQ Skills
    Experience UQ Skills is a full day of hands-on, interactive workshops at UQ Gatton for years 9-12 students considering vocational study in agriculture, animal care or rural operations (including VETiS, certificates, diplomas and traineeships). Find out more.

  • Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
    Join space historian, Kerrie Dougherty, in the story of Australian early space tracking and the role of moonwatchers.  Free event on Saturday 6 May 2023 2:00pm - 3:30pm. Register here.

  • USA College Preparation
    Applying to study in the USA? As an internationally accredited testing centre, TSS offers the following tests on recommended timeline below:
    - YEAR 10:  First PSAT
    - YEAR 11:  Second PSAT
    The Southport School is an accredited testing centre for the U.S. College Board and is offering the testing. Email Helen at, then payment process should be completed at: PSAT is on Saturday 22 April, 2023.

Current vacancies can be found on the Traineeship Vacancies Notice Board.

These change on a weekly basis as new positions become available.

Students who cannot find anything that appeals to them in these vacancies need to source their own employer.

Defence Force Work Experience Program

The Defence Work Experience Program provides opportunities for young Australians interested in a career at Defence to gain exposure to the type of work that is available.

Opportunities are available for both secondary students and you must be at least 15 years of age at the time of the placement.

Students in Year 11 can apply for external study options to enhance their career options.  Students need to ensure they have good time management skills to cope with the workload. 

GeSS Education  courses and pathway options.

TAFE and Trade options fill fast and so students need to apply ASAP to secure a place in their desired course.
