Year 10 Set For Success and Careers Expo

Pimpama

Throughout this term, Year 10 students worked through the initial careers program in Set for Success lessons, designed to help them identify possible career interest areas. Students submitted their College Senior Career Action Plan (CAP), and King's Pimpama now invite parents to attend a meeting with their Year 10 child and their senior teacher to discuss their career planning process. These meetings will take place on Thursday, 16 June 2022.
This process is designed to support students’ pathway to QCE, as well as guide them about how best to structure their learning in Years 11 and 12 around their abilities, interests and ambitions. Helping students identify and plan effective career pathways is an integral part of our students’ transition from senior schooling to tertiary education and/or employment.
Beyond the Career Action Plan process and interview, we would like to remind parents that at King’s we offer our students guidance with:

• Career counselling
• VET pathway advice and support
• Subject selection for senior study
• Tertiary pathways and course information,
• QTAC and interstate/overseas university applications
• Careers expos
• Gap year opportunities

From 2-4 pm in the afternoon, we will also be holding a mini Careers Expo in the high school building. King's invites you to join your child in talking to tertiary education providers to discuss possible options and pathways for your child. A coffee cart will be available for you to purchase a coffee to enjoy while walking around the various displays.
