Audiences Awed by Year 12 Artwork

Creative Arts

This week, The Hub at King's was transformed into a contemporary art gallery showcasing our Year 12 Visual Art students' final submissions. The students entitled their exhibition dis-ə-ˈsem-bəl as it showcased an exciting new dimension of art in a variety of media from sculpture, animation, photography, design, painting and digital illustration. The exhibition was open to staff and students before school and during lunch breaks and on the final night of the exhibition, King's families were also invited to attend. The guests enjoyed perusing the art and hearing from King's Alumni Lola Irwanto and Alex Meth, as they shared about their creative journeys since leaving school and their current work in the design industry. They gave enlightening talks about their experiences and inspired our graduating students to chase their creative dreams. Art is something that finds its true value in being viewed by others, so it was wonderful to be able to share this display with our wider community. Thanks to those who were able to visit the 'gallery' and support our talented young students.
