Year 4 Art: Growth Mindsets

Late last term, our Year 4 students enjoyed moulding paper mache sculptures for their art lessons. Our Primary Art Teacher, Mrs Wendjk, planned an exciting project for the cohort that helped reinforce King's focus on having a 'growth mindset' - which is about being learners who use challenges and failures to grow and develop their abilities. Our students were tasked with shaping a head from paper mache and personalising it with paint, before filling their sculpture with soil and a seedling that would grow out as 'hair'. The students seemed particularly pleased with their Growth Mindset planters and loved showing them to their younger peers who came to look at the works of art.
