Year 4 Camp Report

Pimpama

In September the Year 4 students set off our an adventure of a lifetime. It was their very first school camp at QCCC in Mount Tamborine. Many nerves arose in the initial stages of their departure but were soon forgotten within the fun to be had.

They had an adventurous few days climbing trees, gliding through the air, shooting arrows at targets, nature workshops and so much more. Many students got the chance to go on a hike to find the much-anticipated waterfall. Along the way, they were treated to a fountain of tree knowledge from Mr de la Mare.

‘Courage’ was the key theme of camp and students were required to put this to the test on multiple occasions, physically, socially and emotionally. It was amazing to see students show a huge amount of resilience as many embarked on their first nights away from their families and conquered fears left, right and centre.

Our wonderful chaplaincy team organised incredible devotional times with many students giving their hearts to Jesus on the last night of the camp. Students learned all about the different types of courage and how they could demonstrate this in their own lives.

A life-changing experience was had by all.
