Year 5 Camp at Mount Tamborine

The Year 5 Camp at QCCC Tamborine was a remarkable journey that left an indelible mark on students and teachers alike. Amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of Mount Tambourine, the camp was a perfect blend of adventure, friendship and spiritual growth. Our picturesque campsite buzzed with excitement as students conquered their fears through exhilarating activities like the Giant Swing and Tree Climb. Chatter and cheer echoed through the air as new challenges were faced head-on, fostering resilience and self-confidence. However, the true essence of the camp lay in the moments of spiritual reflection and connection during evening devotion time. Nightly chapels became an opportunity for students to hear the life-changing word of God. King’s amazing chappies led the way with their insightful messages that emphasised finding identity in Christ, not the world. They reminded the group to embrace their unique God-given talents and individuality, fostering a deeper sense of self-worth and purpose.

Friendships grew stronger as the shared experiences brought students closer together, creating bonds that will endure beyond the campgrounds. Reflecting on the 2023 Year 5 Camp, our cohort agreed that it gave them so more than just an exciting adventure; it was a transformative experience that brought them closer to God and each other.
