Year 5 Camp
Our year 5 Camp was so much fun! With lots of excitement we got on the bus and made our way to Camp Goodenough. On arrival, we finally got to find out who was in the cabins together. We were placed with some of our friends and some people that we didn’t usually hang out with, which gave us the opportunity to make new friends and get to know each other better.
There was such good food to choose from and I must say I loved the burgers. We also got dessert each night and my favourite was the jelly cubes, chocolate mousse and ice cream…. yummy! We all had to wash our own dishes which I thought was good, as this helps teach us to be responsible.
After breakfast each morning was activity time!! We were placed in activity groups and each group took turns at each activity. There was crate stacking, the huge swing, team pursuit, an obstacle course and high ropes. We had so much fun and these activities also taught us some foundational values like courage, curiosity, respect, leadership, teamwork and many more.
We got to focus on God and spend time with Him throughout camp. At night we had devotions with our lovely chaplains where we had some games, worship and preaching. One of our chaplains demonstrated how Jesus washed the feet of His disciples and the importance of when you are a leader you should still serve others. These nights were very special as a bunch of students gave their lives to Jesus, which was really amazing.
We were all very tired at the end of camp, but we enjoyed every moment. A big thank you to all our teachers, chaplains and the staff at the camp for making this such a great experience!
