Year 7 Camp

Pimpama

Year 7 Students recently went on their annual grade level camp to Burleigh CYC which is located on the north side of Burleigh Heads National Park. The camp theme was definitely Sun, Surf and Sand with all activities making the most of the idyllic location. The students got to experience typical Gold Coast activities such as Surfing and Stand Up Paddle Boarding. Although the weather was anything but typical, the students had to endure heavy rain for much of their time at camp, something they all took in their stride. Students faced their fears and showed personal growth through the more challenging activities such as rock climbing and abseiling on the cliff face at Point Danger, and tubing behind a boat on the Tallebudgera River. Devotions was a highlight of the camp where many students made a first-time decision to follow Jesus. The camp was filled with many memorable moments where the students faced their fears of heights or the surf and gained newfound confidence in themselves.
