Zohie and Toby Duncan Skiing Success
We love celebrating our students' successful achievements outside of school. Earlier this year, KTTC students Zohie and Toby Duncan had a busy schedule in their chosen sport of Barefoot Waterskiing. In February, the talented siblings travelled to Barcaldine in Central Queensland, to compete in the State Titles, which saw Toby finish 1st in Junior Boys Trick, 1st in Junior Boys Slalom, 2nd in Junior Boys Jump and 1st Overall in the Junior Boys division! Zohie successfully achieved 2nd place in Junior Girls Slalom, 2nd in the Junior Girls Trick and 2nd Overall in the Junior Girls.
Both students spent the next month in rigorous training as they prepared for the National Championships in Mulwala, Victoria, in March. This was the event's 60th Annual Championship where athletes from all States were represented. At the National Championships, Zohie successfully received a bronze medal in the Junior Girls Slalom and a 3rd Overall in Junior Girls, while Toby received a bronze medal in Slalom in Junior Boys. Toby was also selected for the Australian Junior Training squad, with training and competition set for the end of the year in the Australasian championships, and then the Junior World's Championships in February 2023. All such impressive achievements for the efforts of training and commitment Zohie and Toby show for their chosen sport as they continue to train hard on and off the water.
Congratulations Zohie and Toby for your hard work and determination to succeed!
